Ilhan Omar: The New Face Of The Democratic Party And Antisemitism

House Dem’s Fail to Pass Resolution Condemning Antisemitism

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can’t be thrilled with her Freshmen Congress. Pelosi, One of President Trump’s biggest, most consistent critics, has been busy coming to the rescue of House Democrats as they continue to stumble through common decency.

On Wednesday, House Democrats failed to pass a resolution condemning Anti-Semitism, instead voting to table the discussion while the radical far left-wing faction of the party worked to re-word the resolution. This reportedly caused immense tension between the old guard of the Democratic Party, many Jewish, and the new, younger Democratic Socialists.

The resolution comes after Freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar suggested that pro-Israel activists were pushing too hard for an “allegiance to a foreign country.” The comment comes less than a month after tweeting that support for Israel was “all about the Benjamins baby.” Omar has infuriated Jewish members of Congress while Speaker Pelosi has attempted to play it off saying, “It’s up to her to explain. But I do not believe that she understood the full weight of her words.”

Rep. James Clyburn also attempted to defend Omar Wednesday by claiming her experience was “more personal” than that of Jews whose parents survived the Holocaust and Nazi Germany.

Though Wednesdays resolution did not include Omar by name, it is clear it was intended to try and minimize some of the damage the Representative from Minnesota has done to herself and to her party.

A new resolution is expected to be voted on Thursday. “The resolution is going to be inclusive, it’s going to be expansive,” Clyburn said. It is expected the new resolution will include other forms of hate including Xenophobia and Islamophobia.

In January, Rep. Steve King was stripped of his committee assignments by House Republicans after a New York Times interview was published in which King said “White nationalists, white supremacist, Western civilization – how did that language become offensive?”

The Congressman remained uncooperative after being removed from the Judiciary and Agriculture Committees, releasing a lengthy statement that his comments has been incorrectly interpreted. “Leader McCarthy’s decision to remove me from committees is a political decision that ignored the truth,” he said.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy attempted to interview Omar as she traveled through the Capitol Wednesday, asking “are you anti-Semitic?” and “would you support the resolution condemning anti-Semitism?” Omar ignored the question and continually giggled with an aide.

Republican’s, often painted by the left as racist and Anti-Semitic, wasted no time taking appropriate action against Rep. King. However, their counterparts in the Democratic Conference continue to treat the new anti-Israel Socialists with kid gloves as they continue to out crazy the crazies like Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Rep. Maxine Waters, and Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings.
