Former Vice President Joe Biden called a young woman “a lying, dog-faced pony soldier” after she questioned him at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Sunday.
Following a dismal performance in the Iowa caucus, Biden snapped at a young woman who asked him about how poorly he did there while making excuses for his fledgling campaign.
“It’s a good question,” Biden said to the lady. “Number one: Iowa’s a democratic caucus. You ever been to a caucus? No you haven’t. You’re a lying, dog-faced pony soldier. You said you were; but now you got to be honest. I’m gonna be honest with you. It was a little bit confusing in Iowa.”

Although the Biden campaign claims he was joking, the lady who asked the question – 21-year-old Mercer University student Madison Moore – was far from impressed by his bizarre response.
“A lot of what he’s saying seems to be … very sad … To me, he doesn’t seem very solution oriented. I don’t think he has the momentum to carry this to a national election,” she said.

Fox News has noted that Biden frequently uses this line, and he claims he uses it because his brother has repeated the line ever since he heard it used in a old western movie starring John Wayne.
“As my brother who loves to use lines from movies, from John Wayne movies, there’s a line in a movie, a John Wayne movie where an Indian chief turns to John Wayne and says, ‘This is a lying, dog-faced pony soldier,'” Biden said during a campaign event in 2018.
Observers are not impressed with Biden’s combative campaign style and do not think it is likely to resonate with voters.
“Hmmm, Biden does not appear to be confining his ‘go negative’ strategy to [Pete] Buttigieg, but seems to think it will work with voters. Calling a voter ‘a lying dog-faced pony soldier’ must be a new voter suppression strategy by targeting your own voters,” said George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley in response to Biden’s “pony soldier” outburst.
In Iowa, Biden snapped at a voter, calling him a “damn liar,” and making fun of his size after the voter challenged his son’s associations in Ukraine.

After coming in fourth place in Iowa, new polls in New Hampshire show that Biden is in a dead heat for fourth place with Sen. Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren (D-MA) as surging Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) has overtaken both candidates. Biden’s grumpiness does not appear to helping him on the campaign trail, as his third run for president measures up to be as unsuccessful as his first two.
