Desperation has set in early for one Presidential hopeful. Senator Cory Booker, D-NJ, pledged to nominate a woman running mate on Wednesday while speaking at the She The People Presidential Forum in Houston.
Booker was asked if he would pledge to have a woman on the 2020 ticket, his response, exactly what you’d expect from today’s democrats.
“I will have a woman running mate,” said Booker. “To me it’s really clear that we do that.” The answer is the epitome of pandering and shows a clear lack of political principles. Booker took what could have been a strong moment for him and turned it into an “I’ll say anything” for votes moment. One has to wonder if he wasn’t speaking to an organization devoted to connecting women, what would his answer have been?
What is clear, even to Booker, is his attempt to boost his less than stellar poll numbers by promising a room full of women a woman. As of today, RealClearPolitics has Booker at just 3.5% in the crowded field of 20 candidates.
Though a larger problem remains for the democratic party. They have made pandering a part of their everyday platform. From reparations to eliminating the electoral college, the new faction of the party is forcing once centrist democrats to move further and further left. Joe Biden who announced his run for President today, will be the next victim of this far-left movement that is dominating the headlines.
Before our eyes, the party that anointed themselves spokesperson for all struggling Americans, has morphed into the party that delivers different messages, state by state, city by city, and town by town. There is no consistency, no rhyme or reason, just democrats willing to say whatever is necessary to get them elected.
While democrats race to see who can out progressive their colleagues, every day, hard-working, blue collar Americans are being ignored. Again.
Dismissed is the small business owner or factory worker in middle-America or the husband and wife that work 80 hour weeks in manufacturing jobs in America’s “rust belt”. Instead Representatives such as Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez of New York, or Eric Swalwell of California, are leading the progressive charge and doing the bidding of the costal elites. They continue to champion infanticide and voting rights for illegal immigrants while offering up general welfare system to those who have not entered this country legally.
Of course, at some point the democrats will remember how to get to these rust belt states that were ignored by the Clinton campaign and embraced by the Trump campaign. The 2020 candidate’s planes will land in central New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. They will tell you they care about you, your jobs, and your industry. They don’t. They don’t care because this is the same party that once tried to kill those manufacturing jobs. The same party that so willfully shipped the jobs to other countries. The same party whose leader not long ago proclaimed it would take a magic trick to bring them back.
When these candidates are pandering for your votes, remember who waved that magic wand to bring those jobs back.
