The red wave in the US Senate will have serious consequences for Senate Democrats. The Republicans now hold a consequential majority, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) may lose her privileged position on the Senate Judiciary Committee as a result.
Right now, Harris is begging Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to keep her spot on the committee, but as the junior senator on the committee, she is most at risk to get the boot. Her recent bizarre, divisive, hate-filled outbursts during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings have not helped her case either.
I asked Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh whether he believes President Trump was correct, that “both sides” were to blame for Charlottesville.
He refused to answer.
This isn’t a difficult question. One side was wrong: the one with the torches and swastikas.

Schumer is going to sit down with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to discuss the composition of the new Senate Judiciary Committee for next year’s legislative session. After Cindy Hyde Smith’s victory yesterday in the Mississippi special election for US Senate, the Republicans now hold a substantial 53-47 advantage in the chamber.
Harris is already stumping for her likely presidential run in 2020, making a recent appearance in Iowa. She is releasing a book next year, “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey.” This is the equivalent of Barack Hussein Obama’s “Dreams From My Father.” She wants to use this propaganda piece to push her into the oval office.
But lacking a key post on the Senate Judiciary Committee could take away from her a crucial bully pulpit that would help differentiate her from expected Democratic primary competitors like Pocahontas, Cory Booker, Michael Avenatti and others. Elections have consequences, Kamala. The red wave of the Senate may be taking your power away!
