UFC ICON Conor McGregor was arrested Monday evening in Miami after smashing a fan’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Hotel. The Notorious, 30, was hit with felony strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief charges, according to police.
McGregor was captured on video slapping the phone out of a fan’s hand and stomping on it before picking it up and walking away. Sounds like he put more effort into the fight with the phone than he did in his 13 second knockout of Jose Aldo.
This is McGregor’s second run-in with the law. He was arrested almost one year ago in Brooklyn after attacking a charter bus carrying Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the incident, McGregor threw a dolly, smashing a window and injuring a fighter inside the bus. He pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge and was sentenced to three days of anger management, and five days community service.
Police spent most of Monday morning and afternoon investigating the incident. The former two-division UFC champion was taken into custody at a home in Miami Beach.
McGregor was in Miami vacationing with family, celebrating his mother’s 60th birthday at the time of the incident.
His bail was set at $12,500 at Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
